Am I correct in assuming that our newest registered member ("what's so funny") is our old friend Genealogy Janet? If so, we're so glad that you have joined us!
I know that Janet is a respiratory therapist and a stay-at-home mom from Utah, so this new member just HAS to be you! Great photo - it's nice to finally put a face with the name.
Please update us on all that has been going on with you. We have missed you.

Yep, it's me. I'm nursing a cold this morning and am finally on medication. No, not for the MC. But for a UTI and yeast (Cipro and Diflucan.) I turned to this site to see if those of us with MC might have a higher incidence of these other two (UTI and yeast infections.) But, before I could do a search I had to register. Though I still haven't gotten around to that search, I am happy to be reunited with my MC family.
You guys have a way of makin' me feel better. It's nice to be reunited!
It's yucky to have a UTI and yeast infection. Hey, why don't you post a poll to find out the incidence here? Check out the Poll Forum - if you can't figure it out, just yell and someone can help.

It's good to see you posting here. Sorry to hear about the cold--a lot of people seem to have a cold right now, or recently. I hope you're feeling better soon.
I don't recall any discussions about UTIs and/or candida problems on this board. UTIs are so common in the general population, that I doubt that there is any unique connection with MC.
I do believe, however, that we have a higher risk of candida yeast overgrowth. Yeast overgrowth is one of the common causes of leaky gut syndrome, which is a necessary condition for the systemic effects that make MC reactions so miserable. Without LGS, I don't believe that a classic, full-blown MC reaction would be possible. That's just my opinion.
As Polly mentioned, a poll, (or polls), should provide some insight into the incidence of those two problems among the members here.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
