well, i'm an IDIOT!
So, I mentioned in a post or a few that I have been doing well with taking 1 lialda every few days and when I remember, 5,000 vit D. I went to get my Lialda refilled and it cost me $180 (my ins only pays 50% of tier 3 meds, whatever that means...) and when I went to take one yesterday the pills looked different. These weren't the same Lialdas that I have been taking for the past 2 months? So I went upstairs rumaging thru my medicine cabinet and come to find out, they were Immodiums!!!! I had put some immodiums in with my Lialdas when I went away a while back bc I didnt want to take a lot of pill bottles. So what I have been taking every 3-4 days for the past 2 months were immodium and NOT lialda. No wonder I wasn't getting breakouts like I was before when I was on the med bc DUH, it wasn't Lialda.
Augh, DUMMY should be written on my forehead. I am so mad that I paid $180 for the meds when I could have just bought more Immodiums.
So, is it okay for us MC'ers to take immodium for continual use? I know that I also have mast cell issues that I am trying to tie down too but, just wanted to make sure taking immodium like this will be ok?
Thanks!

Hi Jenny,
Hey, don't be trying to horn in on our turf -- forgetfulness is the domain of us old codgers,
and I would hate to think the younger generation is trying to take that unique distinction away from us.
It could have been a lot worse -- you could have been constipated that week when you packed for the trip, and you could have packed a bunch of laxatives in that bottle.
Sure, it's generally safe to use Imodium -- it's probably the safest drug used to control MC.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Before Entocort came back on the market.. I used lomotil for a couple of years.. Would take one or two in the morning.. and by about 9 or 10 am I was good for a trip out of the house for a couple of hours... sure made me sleepy though.. :) It was no way to live.. but I could get out of the house a tiny bit.. wearing diapers... which I sometimes filled and dashed home.. LOL
