The stress factor...now I am worried about my son

This is no relief .............Oh right try to reduce stress in your life!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I spent almost all afternoon in the ER today with Luke. Post Script Luke has had some issues with hemorrhoids is the past.......mild without incident.

So today he comes downstairs and explains to me that he has had a lot of bleeding after a bm..........more than he has ever seen before.

So he is standing in the dining room doorway. I am questioning him about this bleeding.......nursing related questions........how much blood the size of a nickel quarter etc etc.

And in the midst of these questions while he is talking....... he falls on the dining room floor. Passed out right before my eyes.

Lucy got to him first and statred licking his face. I was there in seconds. I immediately checked for head injuries...as this was a fall on a wooden floor............he grabbed the curtain and pulled it down during the fall. No head injuries. I kept saying Luke you fainted wake up. He thinks I slapped him I didn't.

Blood on his pants .........blood on his underwear and fainting andI thought Oh f**K bleeding.........loss of blood............fainting......... bleeding out........... right to the ER.

Thank you Lord it was a very bloody hemorrhoid issue......and nothing more. The fainting was probably a reponse to the blood issue......and at seventeen being absolutely terrified.

Ah at seventeen....... ok referred to a surgeon..........young for this issue.

Wow, that is terrifying!! And yes, he is young for these issues. Does he have a history of constipation? Does he lift weights?

I hope your son is doing better and you are feeling better. My son has some very serious issues of his own and it is very stressful. My son is also 17 and it's way too young to be dealing with health problems. My heart goes out to both of you.

I've had no help at all from doctors about my own hemorrhoid issues. Some have actually been very nasty about the whole topic. Mine have never gone away and it's been about a year and a half. I've rarely had bleeding issues so it doesn't compare at all to what your son is experiencing. Years ago I had one lanced and will not go that route again but I would suppose sometimes there may not be another option. I was hoping my change in diet would help. Zizzle's question is a good one- does your son lift weights? I know I used to regularly lift 90# bags of cement and that didn't help the problem at all.
