The term "Norman" was the result of a typographical error (of the term "normal") many years ago (on the original discussion board that preceded this one), by one of the founding members of this board, who was/is fondly known as "the queen of typos". The term caught on, so we've continued to use it.

Yes, this family seems to have it's own unique vernacular, and we've had many discussions that could never see the light of day anywhere else. With this disease, on the days that it really starts getting to you, sometimes you have to laugh, to keep from crying. For example, have you ever seen this old discussion that was rescued from the original discussion board before it fell by the wayside?

OK Monique of course I had to go read the link that Tex sent you after your answer. Looks like they had a blast(no pun intended) having that forum discussion. I know for sure I don't want to try that Asacol (or whatever it was) but I'm like you.....I was ROTFLMAO and you know how you try to picture these folks in your mind.........priceless!!!

I hope many more will open it because it is hilarious. And I certainly could have used a good laugh considering the week I have been having.
You know I think that God or fate or whatever plays a good trick on you sometimes, perhaps to teach you a lesson. I never liked bathroom humor because I thought it was well, below the belt and guess what, I get a condition that is all below the belt and today I found myself laughing hysterically at jokes that I used to think were tasteless. Go figure :-)

You know again....I can't believe I'm telling this but when I was first dx with MC my doc told me to take fiber tabs.......8 a day no less. I'm telling you that was brutal for everyone in the neighborhood even I felt like. One day my grandson was sitting on the couch with the laptop and I let a reliever and he proceeded to just fall over backwards like they do in cartoons. OK I lost it then........he then decided my nickname was gassy Cappy. He's 7 I laughed until that name came out in public in front of others. Now he can only use it at my house. Nether of my grandkids have ever called me grandma.....they've always called me Cappy. That I could deal with....it was adding the gassy part in front I didn't feel others needed to know. LOL
Again.........way to go Tex.........this should be brought out for all the newbies that come into the forum.
My all-time favorite thread! Thanks for highlighting it again! It makes my day every time I read it. For those who don't know, "self-diagnosed" in that old thread is none other than our dear Tex (Wayne).
