Hi Terri,

They can definitely cause D if you take too much. It's not that they trigger an MC flare, though. The problem is that oils are lubricants, and so a large enough dose can cause D. I take 1,200 mg of flax seed oil and 1,200 mg of fish oil every morning. I would be afraid that 2 or 3 times that amount might cause D, though.

The same applies to magnesium. 250 mg is relatively safe, and I'm currently taking 400 mg per day, with no problems. Larger doses, though, can act as a laxative.
