Hi Barb
It's 6.20 Wednesday morning now. That was a nice little chat yesterday- last night

---whenever
I don't know about a family trait, but my Mum was a dress maker, use to do bridal stuff as well. My Dad did beading for her at times. Her sister was a milliner and they had a little shop together. Two of my brothers paint, one of them is a fair sort of sculptor.
Neither of my sisters do anything artistic, they dont even sew. Don't know what happened there. I think they relied on Mum a bit and did not bother themselves to learn.
I remember at 13 and 14 making clothes for myself by hand. Nothing too brilliant, mind you, but servicable. I often stayed weekends with a couple of maiden aunts who let me use their old treadle machine to make things like coat hanger covers and stuff. An old great aunt who was in hospital for 9 years after a stroke taught me to knit and crochet and other things when I would visit her.
I find all this sort of stuff really relaxing and I am sure it helps me get through bad patches. Takes you away from your problems I reckon.
Love
Twinnie
