Does it ever end?

Post by wmonique2 »

I'll answer my own question: probably not.

Just when you think you have the beast under control, it raises its ugly head... Five days in a flare. Cramps, nausea, pain all over, increased motility.

The reason? I am clueless. It seems like a pattern now. Three to four weeks doing good, then bam, it comes back. Sometimes for a couple of days, this time five days and counting. Back to basics. Staying hydrated, little food, all soft foods.

I was doing real good. Happy. Feeling productive. Had 3 great book signings. Cancelled the one yesterday. Getting good reviews. What else could I be asking for? The beast will never let you enjoy anything fully. Get to know your enemy.

Love to all,

Monique

Hi Monique,

Bummer! I'm sorry to hear you're having a flare. Someone else posted a day or so ago about a "stomach flu" bug that's going around. Maybe you were just unlucky and picked up a virus.

Whatever it is, I hope that it has run it's course by now, and relief is right around the corner.

Incidentally, I couldn't help but notice that most of last week, this part of Texas was covered by a haze that the weather forecasters attributed to dust from the Sahara. I'm not sure how extensive the coverage was in other parts of the country, but it caused me to immediately wonder if it was some kind of publicity stunt.

Feel better soon.

Love,
Tex

Hi Tex,

You may be right about the bug. My friend Anne just had some 4 hellacious days with a bug...and we hang out together quite a lot-- so that could be the culprit.

I didn't hear about the Saharan dust coming this way but that's just too funny. If I knew I could pull such a stunt, I'd probably do it
but I know that weathermen don't listen to reporters because they are not reliable sources :-)

A few years back, Lybian leader Qadafi fired all the weathermen in his country because he said that they lied all the time and couldn't be trusted

I hope this passes soon, because I am exhausted from being exhausted.

Love,

Monique,

I'm so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I'm hoping it's just a bug and you are better soon! Have you been stressed lately? Just wondering with the book signing and all. I need to read the reviews!

Feel better and rest!

Sorry to hear it Monique. If it's a pattern, then maybe hormones have something to do with it.

To cheer you up, I loaned your book to a client to read ( I was in the middle of another book, but will be starting it tonight) and she really enjoyed it!

Take Care

Hi everybody,

Well, I haven't been getting my notices so I didn't know that Leah, Terri and JHL had posted! I just checked to see if all was good during my absence!

Well, happy to announce that I am better today. Probably a bug like Tex said...

Terri---yes, read the reviews and get a copy, girlfriend! Go to moniquewilliams.net or just to amazon.

Leah---GREAT! that is the response I am getting from everybody! I have sold about 100 books so far in 3 book signings and a unanimous vote, it's a winner! Thanks for cheering me up, Leah. I am, indeed, a little down. Maybe from being cooped up at home all these days and feeling very lonely.

Love to all,

Good to hear that you're feeling better :) I just started the book last night and I am already engrossed. You do a great job of pulling the reader in very quickly. My client said that you use "big words" ,so she must be very smart". Ha ha. My client is 84! I have to admit, that i am learning some words myself!

Take Care

Hi Leah!

    Yes, I do use big words sometimes! And yes, drawing the reader in is paramount otherwise you lose them...I am told that people can't put it down :-) they just want to know more. It's a good thing.

I am better this evening. Thanks.

Monique,
I am happy to hear that you are feeling better. I was going to add about a possible bug, because I know there was or is one going around her in MA and it's not fun.

I purchased your book this week and can't wait to begin reading it, but have to finish the one I had just started. Finishing a quilt and golfing are getting in the way right now.

Since I have now been sick for 2 long years, and don't seem to be improving, no matter how few foods I eat, I can understand our being tired of being tired.
I have your book, but will have to get to it sometime in the future because I am proofreading some scripts for my son, and working on something my brother asked me to do. I have SO little energy that everything takes me forever.

I HOPE it is just a bug, and goes away fast, so you can get on with having fun!

Hot winds from the Sahara - Hamsin! And it will soon be the season in Israel.

Hey Everybody:

Nancy, thanks for buying the book. Hope you enjoy it!

Lesley, I am like you. I feel like I have been sick for two long years. I have short intervals of feeling semi-good and then I relapse again into sickness. I believe this time it is just a bug but whatever it was, it felt the same as a flare. I am going to believe it is a bug--it just feels better...

Yes, Hamsin season is in the spring in Israel. It is like a fever. Once you read the book, you'll learn more about the different winds in the desert-- than you ever wanted to know, I am sure  I believe that because of your connection to Israel, the book will probably resonate with you more.

Monique-- I know how you feel when you've been sick for a length of time and start feeling isolated and lonely. It's okay to visit that place but you can't live there. It seems this disease is very up and down and I think sometimes just has a mind of it's own during certain stages, no matter how perfect we've been on our diets. Remember, clear the energy and your body will work to heal itself.

take care, I haven't gotten your book read but I will and soon. I have to finish a Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes novel first before it's overdue at the library. Keep in touch.
