I have natural blonde hair, so I had it reversed frosted, meaning had my hairdresser pull a darker blonde thur the frosting cap.. Just like highlighting..
With my spike, which my hairdresser does an excellent cut, I just have to wash it, take a towel to take most of the dampness out of it, then I use a hair gel and squeeze some into the palm of my hands and run it thru my hair.. Then I usually just use a pick comb and spike it up.. That's it and so easy to do!!!!!
