UPDATE ON KAIT~~~~

This is quite interesting---
A few times,speaking with Kait, she would say to me---*U know Grams, I have these AURA's/etc*~~~~
Now I know an AURA is something we all have around us BUT I didnt know that the word AURA is related to a signal of a pending seizure!!! Which she is starting to go into again

Spoke with Lynn, last night, and she and Kait have been to see Dr.Kutcher,her pediatric neuro., and this AURA was discussed-

Years back when Kait would seize,she was caught in a staring issue and then seize--on meds. and gradually the seizures lessened and lessened--

Now she has been Xperiencing this AURA for a few months and I found out that many people that are going into a seizure wil have a warning sign--such as even smelling an odd odor/etc.

And here I am thinking Kait is talking about the aura that surronds us all--DUH!!!

Anyway--pain management has Kait on Dylantan(spelling) a pain+seizure meds. and Kutcher was pleased cus this has (un-knowingly been controlling her going into a full blown seizure)
He wants her to increase up to 2500 mgs.

Once again we are hoping that she doesnt have any gran-mal's/or smaller
ones---

AND NO DRIVING-----naturally this would be Xpected--

Comes Feb. the ped. neuro will do a brain wave test(cant think of the letters for it) to see how things are running---cus we do know that the brain waves on the right side have been damaged--slightly--

In a few weeks the *titanium* plate will be inserted--the injections have been stretching the *skin* so as they can get in---


XAMPLE of her warning AURAS----teacher talking and telling the class to start filling in a paper---Kait couldnt take her eyes off the teacher --and just froze---then snapped outta it--
This really made me laugh---she then started staring @ one of her boy classmates and then he yells @ her *YO--whatta ya staring at*--
I would guess that maybe he shocked her out of going deeper--

Actually (as I am writing this) I am recalling that this was just what would send her into a seizure----she would say---*I'm staring*---

So issues continue for Kait---dratzzzz!!!!-----but she sure is something else--continues with school---and enjoying life!!!

And I feel so *stupid* just learning that an *aura* is related to someone having a message that a seize is starting--

Don't feel bad at all. I've learned several things that I never would have unless I came into contact with a person or situation related to the "new knowledge".

I only know about auras because they are sometimes a warning that a migraine headache is coming. My sister has those. There are apparently several conditions that can produce an aura. I have them myself sometimes. I apparently have what is called painless migraines and the only symptom is an aura. Mine are normally visual but I used to smell new mown grass or watermelon when there was absolutely no reason for the scents. I'm glad they were pleasant scents.

I am so sorry Kait is still having problems and I hope they don't develop into anything more before the insertion of the plate. I hope then, that she will be on the road to complete recovery. She has withstood so much already. She really is a "heroine".

Hiya Shirl------thanks so much for the info----

I had no idea this happened to people---nor the term *aura* applied to a medical issue---

I guess in a way its a good warning device---

Yup learn something new each and every day--

I feel badly that I never discussed this with Kait--just letting her assume I UNDERSTOOD the terminology---

Well @ least,when I speak with her now, I can relate to her aura's!!!
