Dr. Casells recommends Querticin 20 min. before meals. Querticin is a mast cell stabilizer. It does not work like Histame, or H1, H2 anti-histamines. Mast cells degrade and produce a number if inflammatory compounds besides histamine. The overload of these inflammatory compounds, as well as the bodies natural reactions to this being impaired, causes many problems, and not just GI.

Histamine is good and natural. Problem is when too many, or dysfunctional mast cells degrade, and there is severe overload.

Querticine is supposed to be a help, with few side effects, I am trying. I think it has helped. Hard to remember 20 min. before meals.
Diagnosed April 2014, after losing 50 lbs. in 6 months.
Delzicol April 2014 (no effect, after 3.5 weeks-removed)
Endicort April 2014 - helping, but still losing.
Pepto-Bismal 9 a day - May 2014
Thankful for support!

Before trying Quercetin, I want to know as much about it's effects as possible. This is what I have found:

It is a bronchodilator
It reduces release of histamine and/or inflammatory chemicals
It alleviates nasal allergy symptoms
It is a mast cell inhibitor
It is contraindicated with some anti-biotics, interacts with flouroquinolones/taxol/paclitaxal.

Leah, it may be a good idea to ask your oncologist about possible interactions between tamoxifen and quercetin.

Almost all of the above information is taken from laboratory or animal testing. There don't seem to be many side effects but there are also a lot of unknowns.
