Fluoride Binds Magnesium
I warned about the toxic chemical fluoride being increasingly used in prescription drugs, our water supply and dental products
Drug companies have found that fluoride (which is derived from Fluorine) has unique properties that are ideal for prolonging the active presence of a drug in the body.
Fluorine is the most electronegative element available and it can substitute for hydrogen in medicinal compounds, making the compound more stable, more acidic, and fat loving. These qualities increases the bioavailabity of the drug and its ability to attach to binding sites on cellular receptors and enzymes in the body. While drug companies may think fluoride is magnifying effects of the drugs, its also magnifying the number and intensity of the drugs side effects.
The trouble is Fluoride interferes with biological activity of magnesium. Fluoride binds magnesium into an insoluble mineral called sellaite, that can be substituted for magnesium in bone and cartilage, but the resulting brittleness makes the bone susceptical to fracture. The bond is so tight that magnesium is irrevocably lost to the body, interfering with its thousands of biochemical interactions and decreasing enzymatic action.
Website: Fluoride Toxicity Research Collaborative, you can click on the following common classes of drugs that contain fluoride.

commonly used drugs that include fluoride – Paxil, Cipro, Diflucan, Celebrex, prevacid, Proulsid, Lipitor, steroids, Statins, Chemotherapy drugs

High dose Vitamin D depletes Magnesium
Vitamin D is the new sexy supplement on the block, so its very much in the news. However the association between Vit D and magnesium is crucial and has been ignored in the current media frenzy.
[She recommends having the RBC level test. If you are having high doses of Vit D, it will grab the calcium from the diet and hold onto the calcium for dear life. When you take high doses of Vit D, you accumulate so much calcium that it overrides your magnesium and forces it out of your body
Magnesium in the Central Nervous System
