The Bad News Just Keeps Coming For Statin Users

Post by tex »

Hi All,

The truth about statins is slowly becoming available via research reports. A recent overview study not only acknowledges that statins increase the risk of developing diabetes, but it also shows that the more potent the statin, the higher the risk of developing diabetes:
Results In the first two years of regular statin use, we observed a significant increase in the risk of new onset diabetes with higher potency statins compared with lower potency agents (rate ratio 1.15, 95% confidence interval 1.05 to 1.26). The risk increase seemed to be highest in the first four months of use (rate ratio 1.26, 1.07 to 1.47).
Higher potency statins and the risk of new diabetes: multicentre, observational study of administrative databases

Dr. Briffa's comments about this report can be read here.

So obviously, since the more potent statins have been shown to be no more effective than "regular" statins, for anyone who feels that a statin would be beneficial for them, there is no point in taking one of the more powerful satins, when one of the less potent versions would be just as effective.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

being enlightened by the magnesium miracle, i was very interested that (long story short) fluoride in meds, causes damage to the cells, and in fixing one issue, the med creates multiple issues...

if my hunch about inflammation/immune system kaos is due to the dodgy cell/cell membrane, most major health issues can be attributed to meds.
