My GI told me to stop the Uceris on June 1st, then I have an appointment on the 12th to discuss where we go from here.
Hoping and praying I have achieved remission. Have no way to know how much success is from diet and how much from the drug.

Did you taper down? If so, what did your taper look lik?

With Uceris there is no tapering, just supposed to stop it. It stopped my WD on day one so I am a little nervous about what will happen without it.

The lack of a requirement for tapering the dosage of Uceris is due to the low systemic absorption of the drug, thereby eliminating the risk of adrenal issues. It's strictly based on the absence of a health safety issue, such as the risk that exists with conventional corticosteroids.
But that's not the reason why most members of this board have found that a very slow tapering process when terminating a treatment with a corticosteroid, greatly reduces the chances of a relapse. The reason for the very slow taper is to help reduce the effects of mast cell rebound.
Hopefully you will be lucky though, and remission will hold.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Yes, Tex, I that is why no taper. The pills are 9 MG and are not supposed to be split or crushed so tapering would only work by skipping a day, then 2 days, etc. I decided to try the GI's way the first time. If there is a relapse then I will rethink this.
Back from church, had my gluten free communion. Today was brunch day so I brought my own ham & hashbrowns to eat and peanut butter fudge so I wouldn't be tempted to eat any of the wonderful desserts. So far so good.

It will be interesting to see what kind of record Uceris establishes for treating MC, because as you correctly point out, the treatment is not designed to allow any tapering of the dosage. If it seems to work for most people (in the long run), then that will be great! If it doesn't pan out though, we will know the reasons why.
I have a hunch that you will be OK, because the fact that it worked for you in only a single day, indicates that you didn't need much help from it in order to reach remission. And if you weren't already having mast cell issues, they probably won't cause any problems during during the post-treatment phase.
