Good choice to ditch the prednisone. I've been on varied and mostly very low doses of entocort for almost 2 1/2 years now. I took Prednisone prior to that and it has some nasty side effects. Focus on your diet and you'll get there. The urgency is the worst.

Welcome!
A thought about the yellow discoloration on your tongue. Do you think it could be thrush? Many people with GI issues have yeast overgrowth in the gut, which is another can of worms. Unfortunately, steroids allow yeasts like Candida to grow further out of control. A few of us are attempting to start treatment for yeast overgrowth, but it may be a long road for us.

Hi, Connie. I have LC and am new here as well. My GI recommended 6 Pepto Bismol tablets/day for 8 weeks. That worked for me without taking any other medication. I did reduce the Pepto to 4/day once I was having the opposite problem. I eliminated gluten, dairy, spices, tomatoes, etc. from my diet and have had no issues other than when I ate something that I didn't prepare. Even getting "plain" chicken when eating out is a roll of the dice depending on what type of grill oil is used to cook it. Tex's book has been a great help as well as this site. It is overwhelming but hang in there. It will get better!
Thanks again to everyone. I have had a terrible weekend. Rice didn't do it, my chicken soup didn't. I had a boiled egg last nt and one this morning and it's been fine. I think I'll venture out to get some meat for lunch.
I have ordered the book, vit b test the enterlab test and the budesonide from Canada, but I think they said it's coming from India. I'm ready to get on top of this!!
Thanks again to all!!! You are GREAT!! and so KIND@@

Unfortunately, until you get the results of your tests you will have to live by trial and error. That is what makes the tests invaluable. Eventually some of us had MRT (mediator release test) done to find out what other foods and substances could be causing problems. Once you get the D stopped and the inflammation subsiding, you will feel much better. I was very lucky and the WD stopped the first day I took Entocort. I had been GF, SF, DF, EF for a while and was still struggling with D. I hope that the combination of diet and Entocort will give you relief.

Connie,
Instead of regular potato, try sweet potato. Most members here who are sensitive to chicken, can tolerate turkey just fine.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Oh good. You will have results within three weeks of them getting your sample. Hamburger has always been one of my "go to" foods. I had one today :)…. homemade tacos for dinner ( after 2 years, I can now have spices and have always been OK with corn tortillas) No cheese though :(
