Unfortunate mistake!

Post by Heady »

I have been feeling wonderful, best in 8mths. Its been 2 mths since my last WD episode. Until yesterday. In a desperate attempt to self diagnose the pain in the right side of my face(all my teeth sore) I grabbed the box of Claritin(left in cupboard from last yr) last Sunday without looking at the ingredients. Dah!!! I took one every morning & my discomfort subsided. So my diagnosis.... I have been working in my yard daily & all the neighbors trees are in bloom I presume my swollen sinus was putting pressure on all the top teeth causing my occlusion to be out. Friday mornin all was Normans till I hit the Rona store.
OMG surprise ... WD. I came home & went straight for my food diary. Two new items this past week... Liver sausage & Claritin. I grabbed the Claritin box & sure enough it contains lactose. The liver sausage is clearly labeled gluten, dairy, soy&msg free. My gut is gurgling loud again, bloated, gassy&lower back is sore,I'm tired, have pimples, but hey... No sore teeth! Lol .
Frustrated with myself for not paying closer attention to details!

Hi Heady,

That's a bummer for sure, but at least you seem to have tracked down the culprit quickly. I hope your symptoms resolve quickly, also.

Of course that's the reason why we recommend Claritin Redi-Tabs instead of the regular formulation. But we still have to be careful to read labels, because sometimes label specifications of products vary by the country in which they are sold.

I hope you feel normal again in a day or so.

Yep, Zyrtec contains lactose monohydrate also, unfortunately.

Sounds like you will be right again soon. We all do things like that over time. I did it with bio-identical hormones. MISTAKE! I use Allegra. Maybe that would work for you.
Feel better :)

Thankyou... All was Norman today. Thank goodness. Feelin well today. It's very odd....I have experimented periodically with cheese with no ill effects. Maybe it wasn't the lactose??? Oh well. That's in the past now... Let's enjoy the future! Really appreciate having ya'll to rebound ideas off! Thanx
