Medscape (arguably the number 1 Internet medical information source trusted by medical professionals) has posted a very excellent article that discusses the reasons why such a high percentage of published medical research articles are wrong.
You have to log in in order to read Medscape articles, but IMO, everyone who is interested in their health should be a member of medscape, and subscribe to their newsletters. It costs nothing to register, and only your email address has to be entered (unless the requirements have changed since I registered years ago), and they won't spam you, or sell your email address to spammers.
