Our food traditions during Christmas are all based on meat, old fashioned recipies, and we sit at the table for several hours. Christmas Eve we have dried, salted and smoked lamb's ribs, cooked/damped for 3 hours. Salted herrings, turkey, and a lot of fat. This year I made my potato salad with lactose-free sour cream, and I digested it well.
Despite the outdoor temperature (minus 9 Celsius), I have not had any chills for the last three days.
Fat, oh fat, thou art my friend

PS: I even had a couple of beakers with Aquavit (which is brewed on potatoes), and Crabbie's Glutenfree Ginger Beer (U.K. product). It tasted heavenly good!
