Hey Gabes,
Sorry I haven't been on here for a bit. My stepfather just passed away with lung cancer. I've been helping my mother will all of the arrangements.
Yes, thank goodness 2 freezes last week has caused pollen levels to drop. I had one great day a few days ago, with 2 normal BMs, first ever in 7 years. No meds or questran caused it, diet alone. I actually had an appetite that day. It was a happy day! Sadly, it didn't return the next am. But I know it will come again.
I'm going to start the sandoz, chloestraymine (regular) soon. I'm not giving up on that. The welchol helped but caused intolerable side effects after a few weeks. I notice if I only use coconut oil and eat turkey it doesn't cause BAM. Turkey, rice, and potatoes (plus a few canned green beans) is what my gut prefers, if I could just stick to that I know normal BMs would happen. I keep adding steaks.....
One more thing, talked to a vendor the other day who sales essential oils. Told her about my colitis and she informed me her friend's husband is in remission due to bone broth and diet alone. I smiled and said good for him and yes, I've changed my diet. Now if I could educate my GI nurse practitioner in this area....
Thank you Gabes, hope you are doing well!!
