I have noticed when I eat a whole bag (Yes A WHOLE bag )
of organic himalayan salt popcorn my bowels are more firm and less urgent the next day. Sometimes I don't go at all....that got me thinking that maybe I am in need of a little fiber with my fat to slow things down. Salads are still pretty much a no no, however I do ok with a raw apple 3 times a week. Psyllium seed powder (made without the husks) seems like a good option to try. Anyone have experience with this? And MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope the holidays are staying stress free and enjoyable for everyone!
Now that you mention it, I will have to say that I love popcorn and when I have some, indeed it seems to firm things up. It seems counter-intuitive, but who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth! And just saying, I would go for the Himalayan salt popcorn over the psylium seed powder any day.........

It is bad for MC during the first year or so of recovery. You have to keep in mind the intended target of the posts. We can usually tolerate much more fiber after we have been in remission for a couple of years. But during recovery, fiber is definitely contraindicated for MC patients.

Good point, Tex. It took a year or two of healing before I could tolerate high fiber items like popcorn after really working at identifying and eliminating the triggers in my diet. Now after 7 years I can eat just about anything that doesn't contain gluten, diary and soy. I find that I am most sensitive to soy contamination, but now it only lasts part of a day, and an Immodium or two puts me right, without going into a flare.
