they are my moms sister and brother--We always called him that--why? I dont know but it gave him a chuckle--
They still live in Mass. one in Fall River the other in Swansea(where babci resides too)
Two days ago my Aunt Kay,in Santa Barbara, passed away--
I have many cousins,scattered thruout the states,but somehow we just all lost touch of each other---how sad--
When I got word of Aunt Kay's passing I was upset due to the fact that I had put off my calling her ---it was a every 2 weeks chat--
She was always a barrel of funny things to say--and even tho had many health issues, always so happy--
And so I wanted to bang my head against the wall for putting off--
Naturally I called my cousin Katherine--and we chatted--
From that point I called all my cousins and it was as tho we have always been talking all these passing years--
Of course, it was *remember when~~~~ and the laughs--
My fav. story,which I think I once posted,was the time my Uncle Joe(he was 2 years older than me) *and NO--UNCLE calling when with his friedns*
was when he and I went under the porch crawl space and we had our first smoke---made outta cork husks and the silks--How he got these together I cant remember--all I know I got sick as a dog---and my Aunt was furious--- This Aunt Jean being Uncle Joe's sister and my mom(his other sister) wanted to slap him upside the head too~~~I know nothing of my dad's family cus there was a falling out--waaaaaaay back when he was a young man and he disowned himself from his family--
So I said to my Cousin Walter and wife Carole--well this family must be having a wing-ding time upstairs---
Knowing how crazy they were when we would go there for vacations--this Polish family surely knew how to have a HUPALAH of a time
And to think--my Uncle Muscles still lives in this Old old house where all these kids were born(13) I believe--and of course several died in childbirth--
This place has to be @ least 100 year old eye-sore in an upgraded neighborhod----cus he REFUSED to sell---when all these new developments were going up--
My xcitment ,of arriving there,escalated when I always saw this HUMUNGOUS BOULDER that was the trademark on that old dirt road to my Babci's house~~~~
I have to say how good I feel inside for making all the calls and having good remembering talks--
Hopefully,we can keep the chain of communicating open---After talking with them I thought --boy how I luve these guys~~~
My cousin Teddy travels with his wife and cousin Jan is an Oceanographer--so he is always away---
And 3 cousins out in Long Island~~~and lord knows how many children their married kids have!!!!
Well, just felt like sharing some of my family with U all~~~gone but never forgotten---
