I planned to try Jimmy Dean's All Natural Pork Sausage, but my local supermarket didn't have any in stock. They did have Purnell's Old Folks Brand Country Sausage, with a label specifying All Natural Ingredients, No Additives, No Preservatives, so I tried that.
Bummer! Didn't work for me — I had diarrhea for two or three days. That might have just been a coincidence, but the timing was right, so I don't plan to try it again. The ingredient list looked OK, except for the term "spices". Something that general leaves a lot of leeway for cross-contamination.
That probably concludes my product testing for the rest of the year.

Sorry it wasn't safe, Tex. I'm with you, I don't product test very often!

I'm sorry, Tex. I hate when that happens! I do like the Jimmy Dean natural sausage and always have some in the freezer. I just get tired of the same old thing, but I guess that's what our life looks like now!

Thanks for sharing - too bad it didn't work out:(.
It never seizes to amaze me that no matter how "good" we are and how much we heal, we still react as if we have crazy inflammation in our gut. Guess we have to accept that this is for life .

I saw an ad for those Jimmy Dean sausages and wanted to try but probably won't now. More companies sure are getting more in tune to needs/wants/demands. I am excited for future products.
Has anyone else discovered the "Enjoy Life" brand of various items like me? So far they are my go to for a small treat. The chocolate brownie and the chocolate chips are really, really good. Satisfies my sweet tooth (as of right now anyway).
I agree with Jari. I used to eat the Jimmy Dean All Natural Pork Sausage and I had no issues with it. I tried the other brand because the store where I was shopping didn't have the Jimmy Dean All Natural Sausage. Regarding Enjoy Life Chocolate Chip Cookies: I tried a few and they were fine. But when I started eating them every day, I eventually began to react. Apparently, many of us can't tolerate chocolate (or at least we can't tolerate significant amounts of chocolate).

Yay - Jimmy Dean back on my grocery list for this week! (worth a try).
Wish me luck tomorrow -- first GI visit after being on Budesonide for one month. She wants to start my taper and I do not. I do not feel ready yet.
Tex - next time you feel like trying a "treat" try the Enjoy Life chocolate brownie and tell me what you think. I have had one (sometimes 2) a day for a month and no reaction. i know I am still on the med but i have reactions with some things even on the med - like the bacon. No go.
I just ordered a variety of items from their on-line webiste yesterday.
A month is really too soon to taper the budesonide, at least in my opinion. I took it for over a year and when I tapered off, I took like 1 pill every other day for awhile and then every 3 days, etc. until I felt I could go off and be oik. I feel like a month is way too soon. I had really good luck with it. I had no problems when I went off of it either but I had cleaned up my diet.

I may try those brownies, but I doubt that they will work in the long run. The budesonide is almost surely giving you a free pass on lesser food problems, such as chocolate.
