How to cook for MC and Diabetes

I’m so watching this thread as my husband was also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a yr ago. He has finally gone on meds as we couldn’t get his numbers down enough with diet alone. He has eaten well for the last 5 yrs since eating what I eat with mc. We do eat some carbs as I can’t imagine just meat and veggies alone. Breakfast is my hardest, what do you guys eat for that?

Thank you Jean, 15 years is certainly a sound amount of time that gives proof this is a very viable way of life.
I’ll keep tweaking things on my end of the cooking scale then. I feel so much better about the continuance of this way of eating since my husband has seen such positive improvement.
My flare calmed down last night after 3-4 days of who knows why it even started. Because I can never pinpoint it I’m sure it’s a culmination of may things during this time of the season. I’ve been doubling up on my antihistamine in the morning so perhaps this is where the biggest issue lies.

About seven in 10 people who are otherwise eligible to enter military service in the United States are considered unfit because of their weight.
In the study, which appears in the journal Military Medicine, participants on the keto diet lost an average of almost 17 pounds and were able, with support of counselors, to maintain ketosis for 12 weeks. As a group, they lost more than 5 percent of their body fat, almost 44 percent of their belly, or visceral, fat and had a 48 percent improvement in insulin sensitivity -- a marker that predicts risk of diabetes. In addition, there was no loss of physical performance levels.
The ketogenic diets in the study included no caloric restrictions, just guidance about what to eat and what to avoid. Carbs were restricted to about 30 to 50 grams daily, with an emphasis on nuts and non-starchy vegetables.

As I have stated many times, we are digging our graves with our forks. We will probably outlive our children and grandchildren. Nobody cooks any longer. Eat a pizza, eat a McDonald's hamburger, and eat junk. The days of eating fruit and vegetables are gone. Sad state of affairs. This is a great article. Dorothy
