Positive for SIBO and HPylori. Ugh!

Hi Carol,
You might read my comment I just posted to DebE about yeast...but just in case please research Silver Biotics (rxsilver.com) it will not remove the good bacteria in the gut just the yucky stuff that is making us not feel good such as bacteria/yeast/mold/fungus....and to help the good stuff I have discovered Saccharomyces Boulardii has helped me very nicely to maintain stool structure (and that can be whatever normal that people are experiencing).

Let me know if this link doesn't work....it has great information on usage of Nano Silver.

Thanks Erica,
My functional med doc has mentioned Silver as a possibility. I will definitely take a look at your link.

Kind regards,
Carol

Another update- with some surprises and good news. The first 3 weeks of March continued to be ruled by colitis and SIBO die off symptoms, except that rather than being my usual C prominent self, I was D prominent and frankly it sucked. If I had to choose I’d take C prominence any time. I continued on the GI Detox (activated charcoal and clay supplements) for couple more weeks and dropped back to my basic LC diet. I decided at that point that I was not going back on the SIBO treatment.

Things have settled down and the changes are notable: I am no longer prone to C. I am surprisingly regular. The rash I mentioned above is gone, my sinuses are the best they’ve been in years (even though it’s spring allergy season in Kansas).
My magnesium levels have remained good and my Vit D3 is up to 61, as of this week (70 is the goal). I started on MethylGuard Plus, titrating slowly from 1/2 capsule every other day to a full capsule everyday.
I’m sleeping really well and my energy is better and more consistent. I’m still taking digestive enzymes and GI Hist twice a day and am titrating off Zantac. (I used to take 300mg a day, then 150mg, this week will be dropping to 75mg). I’m going to see if Betaine Hcl will be helpful.

Best news- I saw my functional med doc Monday. He doesn’t think any more SIBO treatment is needed (which is good because I was going to refuse to do that anyway). We did another test for HPylori and this time it came back negative. :weirdnana:
So I’m done with that whole scenario. I had my doubts about having SIBO but my motility is definitely better and I credit the digestive enzymes with helping me the most. Finally I can focus on methylation which is where I think I can make the best gains. Getting some traction now and I can see some positive changes finally.
I’m glad I persisted. I wasn’t sure I was going to get here.

Thanks all for being there and for listening.

Best wishes,
Carol

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
