Vitamin d council
Does anyone know what happened to the vitamin d council? I can't find their website. I typically order a test kit from them and have had no luck.

I subscribed to the Vitamin D Council newsletter and received a group email from its head, Dr Cannell, quite a few months ago. My recollection is that he was upset that the Board of Directors of his Vitamin D Council had staged a "coup" and removed him from leadership. He stated that he was autistic, which may have led to some misunderstandings, and he was very upset and planned to have his own website. It looks like that plan might not have worked out. I looked online, and there is a Vitamin D Society web site which might be the rival group's. But they don't appear to offer the Vit D testing. Of course I am speculating, and perhaps someone else might have more knowledge of what happened.

Hi Martha,
Like Rosie, I remember receiving that email, and I don't believe I've heard anything else from them since. I still order my vitamin D testing kits from the same lab that I believe used to be associated with them, ZRT Lab. At least, I've been ordering test kits from ZRT Lab for many years. Here's a link to their tests page. You can either click on Vitamin D in the list on the left, or click on the Blood Spot Test Kit card shown at the upper right, and on the page that opens, scroll down to the second from the bottom test, which is a Vitamin D, 25-OH test.

A few years ago I sent them a test sample taken on the same day, and within an hour or two of a test my doctor ordered from the lab he uses. The results were an exact match in every way. I order a test kit from them twice a year.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thank you so Rosie and Tex! I need to check mine. I take 4,000 units a day and want to see where I am at. I give the same to my oldest child. I always worry it may be too much, but it is definitely keeping me from catching everything from the elementary kids that I teach.
