I have seen posts on Facebook by her....she appears to be pretty darn busy, enjoying life and just living in general :-)

Sometimes I think once we start to feel better we don't tend to visit as often to the site. I visit periodically...I'm going thru a flare right now a pretty bad one but I'm thinking it is par for the course with this LC....can't second guess it for the life of me sometimes.

Hi Erica,

Sorry about the flare. I hope you can get back on track soon.

Are you sure the FB posts were by her and recent? I haven't heard from her since last April. She was a member of the Board of Directors for the MCF. She missed the annual meeting last year (which is done by a conference call because of the huge distances between us). She never responded to the email I sent in mid-August.

The mystery just gets deeper and deeper.

I’m following this, I have worried so much about her. When I started healing and really got my life back after a couple of yrs I drifted off some but still checked in to read and check on all my friends that have helped me along the way. But she was always here and helping EVERYONE!!!!!

I pray she’s alright and that something hasn’t happened to her.

Hi all- I talked to Gabes just last week via Facebook. I wanted to contribute to a charity or rescue effort for victims of the wildfires in Australia and asked for her recommendation so I sent her a message and she got right back to me. She’s not in an area with the fires but there have been times when the air quality where she is has been very poor. This was Tuesday-Thursday of last week.

Hope this helps-
Carol

Thanks Tex,

I hope I can get it figured out soon as well...pretty sure I've just had to many things hit relatively close together in this game called life and it has upset the apple cart so to speak.

I'm "friends" with Gabes as well on Facebook and she is active, messenger is a good tool to visit her to get the scoop on her busy life and perhaps why she doesn't visit as often if she isn't emailing.

Hi Erica,

I’d love to connect on FB with Gabes. I miss her posts here so much. What is her last name or how did you look her up.
Also, I always enjoyed Pollly’s post. I guess time does move on, sadly.

Thanks, Connie

I heard from her last night. I had reached out to her via Facebook telling her she was missed and hoping she's OK, and she replied that she's doing well and will pop on here very soon.

Sue,

Thanks for the update on Gabes. You haven't posted in a while, either. I hope you're doing well, and enjoying life.

Yes, I, too, am guilty of not being on here in quite a while. I always tell myself that even when I'm feeling better I will stay current with the forum, but when things are going well, things get busy, life takes over, and computer time is low on the priority list. Sorry. :(

I am TRULY enjoying life, perhaps for the first time in 63 years. My colitis is being maintained beautifully by taking a small dose of 6MP each day. A while back my blood test showed that the 6MP was potentially causing liver damage so I cut the dosage in half, and follow-up bloodwork had me back in the "normal" range. My GI wants to see me in March to discuss if I can stay on this low dose or if I truly have to come off of it. Until then, I'm going to continue the freedom of not having any symptoms of CC.

I retired 10 months ago and, as I promised myself I would, I took 6 months to focus on nothing but my health, both physical and mental. At the 6 month mark I decided I wanted a part-time, low-stress job and the Universe aligned because an opening came up at our local humane society. This is VERY rare because 99% of the workers at the humane society are un-paid volunteers so it was a total blessing to be able to grasp the opportunity. The hours are perfect, it's close to home, I no longer have to "dress up" to go to work, and I'm surrounded not only by animals all day, but also other people who adore animals as much as I do.

Life is good, and I count my blessings every day because I know that things can change (sometimes drastically) in the blink of an eye.

Sorry for being scarce, and hoping many of you are also finding health, happiness and peace.

Hello PP Family
Apologies for causing any worry or concern, and for not being participant in this amazing group

I am ‘ok’ (don’t believe everything you see on facebook!!)
I have struggled with my emotional and mental health big time this past 14 months, I wont go into details here given the public nature of this forum.

Long story short, after being unemployed for the second time in 2 years early 2019 – then getting a job, working full time (to earn enough money to ‘get by’) is HARD work.
There are days I come home, do a magnesium soak and go to bed at 6.30pm so I can get enough rest/sleep and have the energy to go to work the next day.
Weekends I barely get all the chores done, priority is washing, hunt and gather for the cook up, and rest. Anything additional to this is a bonus!
To attend any big car events on the weekends I have to have days off work before and after.
In April 2019 my 86 year old mother had a bad fall, my sister ( who is retired) was doing a round Australia trip in a caravan ( common thing that aussie retiree’s do) so I become main support person for her 6 week stay in hospital.
August the winter bugs got me and being a bit run down, I had first bad flare in a few years within 2 weeks I managed to get things back to my normal. In November I turned 50 and struggled a bit emotionally with that milestone

As Carol has mentioned, it has been a bad bush fire season nearby, no risk to my house or anything, but the smoke haze has been bad since early November, there were days that you had to drive with your headlights on in the middle of the day as the visibility was so bad. My immune system/detox system has really struggled with this, that coupled with a few instances of extreme heat waves this has taken its toll.

As Erica mentions, there a few posts on facebook show me living life and sharing days out.

Generally I am ok health wise. My body lets me know when I am pushing any of the boundaries. Life is what it is.. In Gabes mode I am doing my best at Progress not perfection

Love and hugs to all
Xo
