Advice please - Joint pain
Thanks to this forum, I have been in remission for many years. I am careful with my diet and have been able to increase the number of foods I eat over time. I had a colonoscopy in January with no irregular findings. I have always had joint pain/arthritis. (My mother has gut issues, very severe, disfiguring arthritis, and advanced dementia.) More than a decade ago, before I changed my diet and was struggling with MC and swollen joints, the rheumatologist told me that I had an arthritis similar to psoriatic arthritis, even though my blood tests were all within normal ranges. Back then, I tried multiple medications before deciding to change my diet. My arthritis symptoms improved without medications, but never fully resolved. My pain has increased over time, and it limits my activities. I have always thought that my joint pain and gut troubles were symptoms of the same problem. I have reviewed my diet, but nothing stands out to me. I am resistant to medications, but I also don't want pain to limit me, and I don't want further joint damage. What advice do y'all have for me? Do I need to retest with Enterolab? Do I need to go back to an elimination diet? Is there a relatively safe medication that I should consider that would improve my life? Thank you!

Re: Advice please - Joint pain
Are you taking Vit D3 and magnesium?
If so, have you had your Vit D3 levels check recently?
If I get joint pain I increase use of topical magnesium and increase intake of home made bone broth (collagen and gelatine help )
I also attend functional chiropractic regularly. I recently had really bad knee pain issues especially when climbing stairs. The issue was actually my sciatica and hips and quad muscles. once we released the tension in the quad muscles and adjusted the hips/sciatica, knee issue went away
Acupuncture or functional Chiro is good for this type of inflammation.

To add to that, vitamin K deficiency has been linked to an increased risk of knee osteoarthritis and knee pain. While the exact mechanisms aren't known, vitamin K plays a role in bone and cartilage health, and its deficiency can contribute to the progression of knee osteoarthritis.
Another possibility is vitamin B12 deficiency.

Thank you for the advice! My Vitamin D3 was 32 on my latest test. I need to increase that. I have not been taking other vitamins or supplements, but I will start. I had good results with acupuncture years ago, so I should try that again. I needed to hear that, so thanks for the information and reminders.

You may not tolerate some of these items because most are raw but I'm currently eating the following to reduce pain:
walnuts-about 8 a day
olives-about 8 a day
blueberries--8 or more a day
red cherries--about 8 a day or more
tart red cherry juice (cheapest from walmart) about 2" added to a glass of sparkling water
fish oil or fish

I'll add I like the
Theraworx foot cramp foam (THIS CONTAINS MAGNESIUM) Get from Walmart online. Very inexpensive. Shake the bottle and put on skin. I put it all over my body.
Magnesium body butter--I get this from Amazon. I use this for pain spot treatment on my skin.
I've tried the following:
CBD oils-very expensive, did not work
CBD gels--very expensive, did not work
Capsaicin--CAUSED MORE PAIN, DO NOT USE, DANGEROUS PRODUCT
Salon Pas--not effective
Voltaran--not effective
Magnesium oil--made my skin itch terribly
I've had really dramatic results with the products containing magnesium. I think it reduces pain and inflammation. If I don't use the product one night I really feel it the next day.
