A dining out story

Post by Marcia K »

Hello. Happy Mother's Day to the moms in our group!
My husband & I went away for a few days & we dined out for dinner in Ocean City, MD. We went to a restaurant where we have eated several times in the past and a recent review on Trip Advisor said that the staff is knowledgeable. I ordered a Cobb salad. I order it without croutons & no cheese. I don't eat the lettuce. Our server first asked if it was okay if anything touched my food and after checking to see if the salad dressing was gluten free, she came back & said that the buttermilk dressing was gf and "you people usually order that." You people? I wouldn't order buttermilk dressing if I wasn't gf!
We returned the next evening, had a different server and it was great! She was training another server and she was telling her that bleu cheese is sometimes gf, but theres was not. What a difference!
I don't get upset because I'm used to it, but as my friend whose daughter has Celiac Disease said, you would think by now restaurants would do better.
There's always hope!
Have a great week!
Marcia

Marcia,

If you go back to the OC area I highly recommend One Coastal Restaurant in Fenwick. You need reservations. It is a small place.
