I remember when the WAR ended---we lived in an apartment building,lower east side of New York, and along with my mom and a few friends---we all were throwing torn up paper out the windows--
And everybody was yelling *the war is over* and
I went to Fall River on vacation----playing by that big BOULDER landmark - and I looked cross the street---seeing this limping GI --duffle bag--in uniform coming up the street--it was my uncle Walt--we used to call him CHUM--
Well she just dropped whatever and ran into his arms---
Of course, being so Xcited I sorta spoiled the SURPRISE for Aunt Jean but Uncle Chum forgave me---
U see she didnt know when he would be coming home~~~~
So all, enjoy the day---cus we are able to do so for those who are honored today and every day~~~~~
