Oh, its the sights!!! Sure!!!
And the sights we did see----before arriving we pass thousands of trailers just sitting in desolate field---these were to be given to the people who were left homeless from the tornado---instead they are being returned to FEMA---
--rose my temper--OK---passing this we saw total devastation---houses boarded--houses *condemned* ---small shopping malls totally wiped out---it was a horrible sight---
We arrive in the city---same issues---U name it--total filth--a few venders selling stuff---almost all boarded up---
This is the place that we used to walk back and forth to our hotel,which was so delightful--and just filled one with Bourbon St. Jive/Jazz
Gone---
Also a hotel famous for its Fairy-Land Xmas decor--boarded--
People flocked there just to walk thru the mezzanine which was so decorated with the most incredible Christmas stuff that it almost made U feel U were in another world----
How so very sad--
So I said to Lou---we are outta here---and we stopped this very nice black guy---asked directions to I10---this young man gave us all the weird turns and then added * and if I were U two--I would LEAVE and not browse around!!!!
We get back on the road----and we sat there for 2 and 1/2 hours due to a terrible car wreck---appears someone made a fast cut in the lane--hit a car which in turn hit another car--flipping it over onto the grass--crunched like a pancake which killed that driver who is the MAYOR--
The girl in the other car was alive--taken to a hospital BUT the driver who caused this tragedy took off like a bandit---
By a stroke of luck someone got the license # and the next morning they were flashing it on the TV--with scenes---of the accident---
bUT u know what really added to *oh my god* was that the cars in back of us just gunned their way on the grass----stopping the police---ambulance etc.
OK---another incident---chilling
Around 11pm---we hear a guy and gal (who are laughing about something) enter the room along side us---
Quiet as a mouse till 2 am----when we are waken by this gal crying--screaming- being pounced off the walls and she is pleading---*Please what are U doing---Please dont do that to me--Please dont hurt me--Please dont---and his voice was one that would scare the devil outta ya--
Now we call the night attendant---He comes up--knocks @ the door--the guy opens it---and says all is ok---*she has a head problem*
It starts again----We call again----and say this gal is being beaten up!!
Sooooooooo--within 15 minutes-2 cops,with the manager, GUNS are drawn--show up-----pounding and saying *open this door or we will break it down*
Silence----this is the topper----they open the door and they are GONE!!!
But, they have this kids license #--due to signing in---and now they on the look for him--I said to Lou--*DATE-RAPE* and maybe he slipped her something--and she came aware after it wore off and he was doing whatever-----Can U imagine not hearing them leave-- imagine IF the nigh clerk didnt actually see them---
Appears there was a bunch that signed in--and we thinking it was a group going to Virginia Tech--go HOAGIES--football game----cus we passed a hugh amount of kids---familes---with these flags waving!!
So this last incident really scared the hell outta me--hearing this gal--but sad to say----they cant be that ignorant---and yet they are and pay the price--
Matter of fact I asked the manager---*were we the ONLY ones on that floor??? nobody else called hearing this girl screaming???
Guess so!!!!
This I cant believe---he said there was a bunch that signed in and the cops went to each of the rooms---checking to see if the girl was with any of them--
So folks, I hope we never hear anything like this again----
