I will have tissue surrounding the biopsy site excised and reviewed by pathology. It is an outpatient precedure, but I willl have to go under general anesthesia (I'm a little worried about that..) . Fingers crossed there are no surprises found! I have a post-op appointment next Wednesday to go over pathology results. Doc says they won't be able to tell anything on Friday, as the tissue will appear totally normal. Then I will be referred to an oncologist to discuss options for follow-up and prevention.
Breathe....I can do this. Now that I have a plan (or at least a plan to make a plan) I am feeling better - nothing is worse than not knowing. He also gave me an Rx for Valium, since I'm not sleeping - so that should help! I took a big dose of Benadryl last night, which helped a little, but he says this will be better
Oh Mary, my heart is with you right now. You are right, breathe...you CAN do this. Hopefully Friday will go well and it will be a relatively quick and easy procedure. Things are moving quickly, so you don't have too much time to dwell on this. I'm glad they gave you something to help you sleep.
Please let us know what else we can do to help you. Big, big, big hugs to you!
Hi Mary!
I had the outpatient procedure done too with general anesthesia.. Had no problems with that.. They told me that they no sooner got me in the recovery room that my little pea head popped up and I said, "Could I please have my glasses??????? Couldn't see anything!! They said they wished everybody woke up that quickly!!
Thoughts will be with you!!
Dee asked for her glasses---- --once when I awoke from a minor surgery----I told the Doctor(handsome devil) *I Luve U*--talk about being embarrassed!!!
And I can hear that BREATHING---yes, it always helps when the PLAN is started---

I once asked a doctor for a date while going under. But I had a biopsy done in the Doctor office with a local. I didn't have Insurance and they wanted 2100.00 to do it in the hospital...I asked the doctor if her could do it in the office...he said yes (750.00) It was painless. But the week before I was a wreck. Didn't sleep, was crying all the time.
I will be praying for you. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
My prayers and best thoughts are with you and I am breathing right along with you. I am with Liz on the first thing I ask for. Hate being seen without the choppers.
Love, Maggie
