Everyone was so nice and made me feel very comfortable! I got to chat w/the radiologist who inserted the wire to mark off the area for excision while we waited for films. She said I was *very* fortunate to catch this so early, and I had a great surgeon - made me feel quite positive about the whole thing.
They kept asking if I wanted a Valium before the procedure but I said I didn't need it - tech mentioned how calm I seemed...I honestly had *no* anxiety about the procedure - now waiting for final pathology is another story....but I feel much better knowing any questionable tissue is now G.O.N.E.
I got the number of a top oncologist @ U.C.S.F. from my mom's friend - so I need to make that appt to discuss what needs to be done next...I'll get a few opinions and we go from there. Get the path results Wed. so I'm still nervous - but not as bad as before...
So glad it went so smoothly. Having caught it so early puts you in a great position. Don't try to worry too much between now and Wednesday (I know, easier said than done). And keep us posted.
So very happy to hear that things went well and it sounds like they had a great staff to help you out. Wednesday, being the first full day of Spring, should bring you great results.
Love, Maggie
