So I see U are home-----yeaaaaaaaa!!

How did your surgery go----and whats the outcome and all the other 20 questions I would like to ask----

Would U fill me in----
One more Q.---who is the oncologist that U are seeing----always good to have *names*----
Yes---I have to say L and I are aways on top of issues---as I told my GP--I dont think anything is WRONG but something isnt RIGHT!!!
BTW Mary----thats why I went to the city for my GI--Dr. Chapman--connected with Mount Sinai----he is the GI that got me on the right road--
Not saying the medicos dont know there stuff here BUT have to say---its the BIG NOO YAWK where U get the more knowledgeable treatment--and aggressive!!!!!

Everytime I think of the years that I spent seeing this GI,here in our little town, and got noplace---I could still scream!!!

I am doing fine! Surgery was Wed. morning - pretty simple outpatient stuff - I was home and by 10 am!! I see the surgeon on Wed. to find out if they got a "clear margin" around the site - he seems to think so, but cancer has a mind of its own - so you never know for sure! The bandage is starting to itch - I may cheat and take it off early

This oncologist is a young guy -40's- native NYer, but has been practicing out here the past 10 years - name is Dr. Sherman - apparently he is a huge Yankees fan (?)

I agree there is peace of mind in being near a big city - where they are up to speed on the "latest and greatest"! That is why I have a consult in San Francisco as well ,with some docs involved in cutting edge trials etc...gotta be sure of things before making big decisions!!

So I should find out more about a "game plan" etc, next week....

Thanks for the up date Mary-----and I do hope the margins are clear---

U know---a few years back--A Dr. Light---who runs a spinal clinic in Frisco, was interviewed on TV---evidently highly praised for his work--
Our neighbor called us---and we got the info. and from this we called Doug and suggested he go there--to see if there be anything that Dr. Light could do for him--

Well he flew to Frisco---they had a car waiting for him---and he spent 4 dayz ---going thru megga testing---
While there Dr. Light even transported him back and forth to the motel Doug was at!!!!!!
Every test imaginable--including a milogram---and Dr. Light was so very sorry that he couldnt help Doug---it was either paralize/kill him---
Doug didnt care---just to be pain free would be a blessing---ending up in a wheelchair would be relief----dying???? he didnt care~~~~~
The point of all my rambeling---is just what one has to do---GET TO THE RIGHT SOURCE---

We often asked him to get in touch with LIGHT---with all the technology--perhaps SOMETHING----
He is seeing a doc. in AZ.----started out with *high-hopes* but now this neuro says * he knows Doug is suffering---but maybe he is causing himself MORE pain---in the head!!!!* advised him to see a psychologist??
Doug can be sweet as PIE--and told this neuro. YES!!!! the pain radiates from head down*!!!!! I am not causing it!!!!!

This is really funny---Doug then said to this guy----*so whacha think-I had a rotten childhood--my parents beat me---this is why I am still suffering!!!!!

He calls me the other day---First he says---* I miss U guys*
Then he says---- --so mom did ya beat me up when I was a kid?!!! HUH???
