My son has a recurrence of pinkeye (I think 2 of the kids decided to pass it back and forth over the break!) - so he was prescribed some stronger eyedrops. The pharmacist warned me they were expensive and not available as a generic...
A 3ml bottle is $98!!! Luckily we have good prescription coverage - so it only cost me $20 - but yowch!
Off to do *another* load of all of the sheets and towels in the house and hopefully "nip it in the bud" - I NEED everyone to go back to school tomorrow!!!!!
Yup, some of these are crazy. Lupron is up around $500/shot. My prescription coverage sucks and I had to pay 50%. But also have a $1,500 deductable after which they pay 100%...I think I reached that by the last shot.
Do make them get to the bottom of the low iron Barb. I don't want to scare you, but my MIL has had low iron for a couple years now. In January colon cancer was found (fortunately still at surgically treatable stage). She was getting iron or procrit shots every couple weeks. Now her iron is going up and no more shots, and probably only another month of weekly blood work to check the levels. Then she'll just be checked for the cancer indicators for recurrance purposes.
Mom's procrit used to be 1,000 per shot also but I believe it's come down now. At the time she started needing them she had no Rx coverage so her Dr. at the time helped her get them for free. He was a great Dr.... naturally I'd think so since he did that with a couple of very expensive meds for her. Now she has the part D coverage, of course, plus we got her to get a supplement insurance for medical. Thank Goodness!!

Barb, how long is it since you had your last colonoscopy? May not be a bad idea to get it checked out. Even a pathology test for blood in your stool may not be a bad idea either.
And I am sure you have not atrophied in any way. You look pretty chipper to me.
Lotsa Love
