Looks like June 8 will be it! They have been having quite a time trying to coordinate 2 surgeons' busy schedules along with getting a 5 hour OR time slot...but like my husband says, this is good - I would be worried if they said "sure - we can do it tomorrow!" LOL!!! Only bummer is it only gives me a week before the kids are out of school - but supposedly the first week of recovery is the roughest - and it's good that the last week of school is all fun stuff - so they will be occupied, but I won't have to be trying to get homework done etc...I will have a lot of help, as well!
It will be cutting it a bit close for my Vegas girls' weekend - but I am determined to go! Barring any complications, I should be okay. Usually people go back to work 3 weeks post-surgery. This trip will be 4 weeks out - I'll just have to hire a hot young valet to carry my bags for me

We will just be lounging around the pool (though I doubt I'll be sporting a swimsuit!) and we have tickets to see Cirque de Soleil....I'm not a gambler, so I'm thinking a couple good books and some room service...it may actually help with my recuperation
Well, I got my genetic testing kit from the oncologist yesterday - I need to run over to my lab today for the blood draw and have them send it out. He sees no problems with insurance approval given the family history and my diagnosis...he says if they call to question it, he will argue my case and he always wins

He says I have the best "team" doing my surgery, and commented that I seem happy and confident about my decision - which is a good thing! I will see him again in 2 months to get results of the genetic testing.
Off to run errands/clean-up etc. In-laws arrive tonight and I'm having a little party here on Saturday to celebrate middle kid's first communion...we are also invited to a cinco de Mayo party in the afternoon...
Adios-
Mary
