Latest Test Results

Morning All,

Called the neurologist yesterday for the latest test results and after a bit of looking they located the ultrasound report. Gave me less than 100% faith if they could not find it. I did not get to talk to the doc only the girl in the office who relayed the results. Spectacular blood work and great ultrasound. Will send results to my GP. End of conversation. At this point in time I am sick of all of it and will just go on my merry way and practice balance each day. Last fall was 2 weeks and 2 days ago and have not been dizzy since. Fingers are crossed

After feeling so positive about the neurologist I was very disappointed in that I did not get to speak directly with her, no suggestion for anything that might help. The ear factory did tell me that the dizziness could just up and disappear and may or may not come back. Here's hoping it took flight and will not come back. Just very confused and less than enthusiastic right now about doctors.

Today is my cardiologist but due to possible snow will reschedule it. Last week on snow was over 2 hours to get home and since he is way further from home it is a better idea to reschedule. Have gone back to Entocort every 2 days (3 mg) and it has already produced results. Every 4 days was back to very watery D.

I want to thank everyone for your support and for helping me through this very confusing time. Seems with MC when you get a problem it just takes longer to get over it - Polly, Mars, Barbara and many others - and sometimes they just can't figure us out.

Hi Maggie,

That's really good news that the inner ear problem seems to be gone. I'm very optimistic that it's run it's course, and will cease to be a problem - good thing too, 'cause the medical profession doesn't seem to be much help.

The older I get, the more disappointed I become with the medical specialists of this world. Many of them should be in other occupations, IMO. I suspect the primary problem is boredom. To become a doctor, they have to learn almost unbelievable amounts of technical information, and it takes someone who "burns to learn" to want to pursue a course like that. Being a "mere" doctor, also bores them, so they learn volumes more, and become specialists. The problem is, that's as far as they can go in the profession, and they soon become bored with that, also. Needless to say, people who are bored, don't do good work. That's why I think they should be in another line of work, where peoples lives are not at stake.

Sorry to be so negative, because I know that there are very qualified specialists out there - CAMary, for example, had a very satisfying experience with her doctors. (Of course it's a lot easier to be enthusiastic about your work when you're dealing with breasts, rather than guts and anuses. LOL). Most of us, though, seem to have one disappointing experience after another, when we turn to the medical profession for help. The odds seem to be unfairly stacked against us, but probably it's also true for the general public.

I hope you never become dizzy again.

Hang in there Maggs-----although U certainly have been doing that for a very long time--

I hate when I am @ a loss for *comforting* words---like HANG IN---well sure as hell wouldnt say--GIVE UP!!!

Forgive my attitude-----right now there is megga running thru my life---and it appears that it shall remain --even tho I say to L. keep the damn wallet CLOSED!!!
I am sure U all get what I am saying---

As each day passes--I sure dont look forward to the next---

I'm so happy they didn't find anything serious. But at the same time hear your frustration that they can't or won't help you.

Hang in there. From one with a fluid filled ear, I understand the fear and frustration.

Hi Maggie,

Thanks for the update. I know how you feel not getting any clear answers/direction. Sigh.

You know, I know 3 people who developed acute positional vertigo/dizziness in the past few weeks. I wonder if there is a virus going around that is responsible. One of my girlfirends has had it for 10 days without any improvement - she is going to the doc today. Another girlfriend had it so bad the first 2 days that she couldn't even get out of bed, but she is perfectly fine now. Strange.........

I hope everything checks out as well as the ultrasound and blood work did!
