Thanks, guys!
I had a pretty low-key day, and we went out for Mexican for dinner
And a special friend made me a cake! (GF, of course!) I went to my breast cancer support group meeting @ church on Tuesday night. One of the ladies who is a facilitator had gone to the health food store and gotten a GF spice cake mix and baked it. It was delicious! She always wants to be sure there is something for me to eat (we usually have coffee and treats afterwards), even though I'm usually shoving down dinner as I arrive. She is very considerate in that way....anyways, she insisted I take the leftovers, and I said "This is so great - it's the first GF cake I've had that I didn't have to make myself! I'll save it and stick a candle in it since tomorrow is my birthday!"
Well, once she found out it was my birthday the next day, she *insisted* on making me a cake - a proper birthday cake w/frosting and everything! She went over all of the ingredients with me, assured me she had even purchased GF vanilla extract, and dropped the most gorgeous cake w/ homemade cream cheese icing by in the afternoon! Even the kids raved about it! I was so touched by her kindness
Anyways, it was a business as usual day (homework, baths etc...) but I bought myself a few things last week (PJs and a purse) and spent $$ today at the hairdresser's getting my grey camoflagued

- so those are my gifts to myself!
And no mammogram appontment *this* year to rain on my parade
