Kitty this is how I was lowered on pred.
1.dosage 30 mgs. --in 10 mgs. units 3 times a day---with meals (this for a week)
2nd -drop to 25 for a week`
3rd--drop to 20 for a week
4th--drop to 17 1/2 for a week
5th--drop to 15 for a week
6th--drop to 12 and 1/2 for a week
7th--drop to 12 for a week
8th -drop to 10 for a week
9th-drop to 5 for 2 weeks

10-FINALLY finished---in this manner it gave all the organs that were put to sleep (by the pred) time to YAWN and wake up and start to get back to doing their job---

This I had to go thru twice during my MCC and the same drop down---I had to call every week to report in--

The third time I was in the hospital so the Pred. was given to me intravenously--which is the way to go

As I said many times --gotta do what will be the most beneficial for *U*

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for sharing this with me. My Doc is taking a much slower approach with the Pred. for me. I am taking the 30 mg for a week and then we willl taper. I am going to discuss the taper with him given the input from you guys about your experiences with it. I think he may slow the taper down a bit for me. I am having a good day so far. Hoping it continues as we go into the long weekend... I hope you are well and I appreciate you so much!
