:cry: :cry: When Jack was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February 2007, I joined a prostate cancer support board.

Thru the months and up until now there is a man that posted alot on that board. Never of course, knowing him personally, I grabbed on to his wisdom, personality and humor. I followed his posts when he was caring for his wife that had terminal cancer and his emotional posts up until she spread her wings and went to the beautiful mansion in the sky. He has been a great advocate for men everywhere and even wrote a book.

About a month ago he posted that he thought he was getting dementia.

He went and had an MRI.
They found a huge brain tumor and have given him 4-6 months to live.

One of his posts on the board came into my inbox this evening..

Many prayers for this brave man. Life sure can throw some curve balls but it seems that he has played his game hard, long, and with dignity.

that was a sad post from AUBREY--yet in a strong way too---
Facing facts and getting *issues* in order---

I know many times Lou and I talk about this but I am the one that doesnt want to hear it---
As Aubrey--Lou has guided me to what I have to do and where all the papers are that I must follow--
My children also know the things to do and take care of---

Oh, Dee, this sweet man's post makes me want to cry...
He sounds like a wonderfully caring person who is having to deal with such a difficult condition...cognitive decline.

I work in a nursing facility (physical therapy), and I always find these types of situations the most difficult....folks who are just beginning the road to dementia...still aware enough to realize that they are declining. I have a tough time emotionallly with folks like your friend because you can stilll 'see' what normal was like not so long ago for them, but dementia seems to set in quickly, leaving normal behind. It's just not fair. I know life isn't, but it still sucks.

I know you will offer him the best support and love you can...

My heart goes out to Aubrey and he is doing the right thing instead of being down and pessimistic he is being proactive and when his time comes his dear wife will be waiting for him with open arms. My prayers are with him.
