Barbara,
I reckon when you go on to the next level, you'll be taking over my job here, cause I'm clueless also. LOL.
It works perfectly for me when I try to post to Dee's topic about Aubrey - I can't find any way that will cause it to give me a parse error message.
I don't understand this question:
So what did U say back to me when I FREED myself from being pounced on the head by U know WHO!!!
This was my answer:
Hi Barbara,
This is the line of code where the error code is being generated:
if ( $is_watching_topic )
There's nothing wrong with that code, though, so obviously one of the MODs that I installed recently, has a bug in it that was overlooked when it was certified as valid for use on php boards. IOW, the interpreter is loading invalid data into a register before it gets to the line of code in question. I'll uninstall some of the MODs, working backwards, and I'd appreciate if you would let me know when the problem disappears. I assume that you use the "Watch This Topic" option. I've never used that option, so I wasn't aware of the problem. I hope it didn't occur with the first MOD I installed, three years ago, because I've added way over a hundred of them, in the past three years. LOL.
I've uninstalled the last MOD. Is the problem still there?
Luve,
Galahad
"if ( $is_watching_topic )" is line number 653 in the viewtopic file that the parse error message pointed to. However, there's nothing wrong with that line of code - it's a basic line of code from the original, unmodified php bulletin board code. I thought that one of the MODs that I added during the past few days, might have caused the parse error, but if you still have it, (and I can't duplicate it), it's beginning to appear that the error may be due to the way that your computer is communicating with the server.

Is anyone else seeing these errors?
