Calling Tex/How Close Are You To Humble?

Seriously, how close are you to a place called Humble, Texas?
My niece and her husband are going to be moving by the end of this month to Humble, Texas. LuAnn's husband Len is taken a new job there and believe me when I tell you I'm really going to miss them both. So was just wondering how close you might be too them when they leave Michigan.
LuAnn has been a big comfort and has helped me through a lot of emotional garbage since my DX's. Even when my children found it hard to come around Mom, LuAnn was there to help me through testing, surgery and helping with her Uncle David (my husband). I'm really going to miss her dearly but we'll keep in touch.
Just wanted to ask incase your close enough to give them a Big Texas Howdy when they move? LOL

Hi Jodi,

Humble is in the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area, which is approximately 150 miles east of me, and slightly south. That's a pretty heavily industrialized area. I've never been to Humble, (pronounced "umble", in case anyone is interested), but I've seen enough of Houston to make me appreciate the country life. LOL. Heat, with high humidity, is the most memorable aspect of that part of Texas, but, of course, around Houston, the traffic runs a close second.

I certainly wish them the best, and hope that they thrive there. Industry should really be booming down there these days, with all the current interest in fuel production and refining. It's a different world than Michigan, and they'll never have to worry about being snowed in - that's for sure.

I had to LOL when you explained how to pronounce Humble because when Len and LuAnn came back last week from Texas as they were looking for a home. Len said;"We be livin in Humble but you say it like this; "umble". Bless your heart Tex and I'll give them your best wishes.
