I know I've been out of touch since February! I've missed you all and thought of you much!
Not to worry, I'm still taking care of the "Flower Pot" fund and have detailed records if anyone wants them.
I'm just finishing a regime of steroids and finally have "normal" you-know-what is showing up!!!
I believe what set off my decline (in Feb.) was stress...Mom (Momster) in emerg the day I came back from vacation in Feb. (can't believe how long it took with meds to get sorted out). I think I might be heading towards (YES the big R)..... Remission.
Anyhoo there seems to be a ton of new peoples on board - WELCOME! Hope to get to know you soon!
So good to "see" you here again. I've been a little scarce myself, but I wondered where you were.
I didn't know you were having a major flare. Bummer. What kind of steroid did you take.....Entocort or prednisone? Did you tolerate it well? And good luck with the "R" word - will keep my fingers crossed. I can imagine how stressful that time must have been.
When is your next vacation? We always enjoy your photos and commentary vicariously!
Love,
Polly
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

Me too! It's great to see you back. I'm glad you're finally seeing success - it's been a long haul, and it's all been uphill, I'm sure.
Love,
Tex

Polly - it's the Entocort I take. But only when I absolutely have to. I still take Asacol regularly.
We'll be on vacation starting Saturday. We're staying in the province, doing a lot of driving and visiting with friends. In between visits we'll spend 4 nights at the Princeton Castle resort in a wonderful cabin with a jacuzzi, fireplace, barbecue and great deck. http://www.castleresort.com/
In February we go to Guatemala, then Africa in 2010
Had a great visit with Mom today. She's doing well by the way. I'm tired after a long drive on the freeway and waaaaay too much traffic.
I was going to e-mail you today to see how you're doing! I am still hoping that you can come for a visit soon! I didn't move into my new house until mid July, so have had a busy time unpacking and having meetings for my new job. I love my new school! On Friday, the principal asked me to chair my dept. Not sure what this means, but she will fill me in. How is Momster?

Hey...thanks Tex! Cool site! I was actually part of the Arts Chair Rotation at my old school, and also chaired the Upper School Art program. At some schools, you have to oversee the entire Arts budget and hiring/firing....luckily at my old school, I only took care of my budget, but did not oversee Music and Drama....I hate being a $$$ watchdog, but don't mind overseeing the curriculum. The Principal hasn't decided what the Dept. Chairs' extra duties will be....I need to wait and see what she cooks-up for us...hahaha. The duties may include serving on the Curriculum Committee. ?????? I'll let you know!
PS....Did I mention that I am sharing an art room with one of the High School Art teachers? I told her about my CC and asked her to watch my kids if I have to "run"....guess what???? She has IBS! Hahahaha...no kidding! JJ
I agree - no point in worrying about it until the principal decides what the duties will be. It will be interesting to see what she decides.
That's quite a coincidence. Sometime when you're talking with your art teacher friend, ask her if her GI doc ever took any biopsy samples. She might have something besides IBS - you two might have a lot more in common than you realize. LOL.

I have been away a bit as well but it is nice coming home. You have some wonderful holidays Peg, and more lined up as well. Look forward to your next lot of wonderful photos.
Love

A smile is a light in the window of your face that shows that your heart is at home
Welcome home Peggy. Sure missed you around here and sorry to hear about the flare but happy things are sorting themselves out. Know you had reasons for stress and hope some of them have abated.
Love, Maggie

Momster is doing really well.
We'll have to try for a get-together next summer - too much on my plate now.
