Flu Jab !!

Post by angy »

Hi guys!! i was told by several people that I should see my gp and ask for the flu jab..Reasons being 1. that i work with vunerable people with health problems (carer etc) and 2. due to the immune problems with cc...Normally i would pay for a flu jab(if i were normal lol!!!) but i was told i could get it free for these two reasons..Im referring in uk though...and most of you guys are in us...

I think i should possibly go for it but will it have an effect on me. I remember years ago when i got it i felt a little unwell for a couple of days..

Angy,

A nurse at my doc's office asked me if I wanted one last week, when I was there to have a blood test sample drawn, so the shots, (jabs -), are available here now, too. Since your work requires you to be in close contact with the public, it probably would be a good idea to get the shot. I get the impression that most people who work in the medical field get those shots every year, over here, but I could be wrong.

Angy,

I've never understood why so many people get a "light to moderate" case of the flu, from those shots, because as any doctor will tell you, "that's impossible, because the vaccine only contains killed viruses". I've never had the shot either, because I've seen a lot of otherwise healthy people, come down with a pretty good case of what certainly appeared to me to be the flu, (even though that's impossible, of course.). When you've got aching muscles and joints, a headache, D, chills and fever, etc., that sure seems to me to be a lot like the flu, to my way of thinking. LOL. Still, most people usually don't react that severely, and they usually get over it in a few days. Since most of the time, I can stay away from public places, and all but a few people, I just take my chances.

By the way, please don't change your writing style, I love your Scottish slang.

Angy,

No, I don't think you're paranoid. I'm just so thankful that I don't have to ride those buses, (there aren't any out here in the country). Airplanes are probably even worse, because I believe the air is recirculated on them, and you can't get off, until it lands. Also, everything you touch on them is contaminated with some kind of germs.

Angy get the flu shot. David and I both get one every year and it really has helped us. At least if you do come down with the flu it will or should be milder form. Keep in mind that it takes 2 weeks for the vaccine to work it's way into your system so the sooner you get it the better!

Jodi i have been getting accupuncture for 2 yrs..cost me over 2 grand....originally it was for migraine and then led on to my stomach ache...that was before i was diagnosed with cc...)
The accupuncture i get is solely based on the chinese method...all my docs there are chinese...I dont get the western approach to accupuncture...It helped loads with my symptoms at the time... but now, with my last 2 sessions im going to get the doc to aim the session at my cc...so i will let you know ok!!

One other thing though ...accupuncture doesnt always work for everyone...but it tuned in with me amazing...

Well the cash info just kind of stopped me dead in my tracks, guess I'll just keep plugging away. LOL
I did send an e-mail to Wal_Mart Corporate Offices and haven't heard from them. But I just sent it yesterday.
I've also just asked Tex for some help as well.
If anyone can get them to take notice and change things it's our Presidential Candidate: TEX! LOL
I don't think there's any subject he hasn't researched at one time. I wish he would go on one of our game shows here in the U.S. called "Do you want to be a Millionaire". Tex would go right to the top without having to use a life line. I'm sure of it. That's how much faith I have in him.
