Puppy poo, race for the cure etc...

Post by CAMary »

Hello fellow PPers!

Boy life is busy - I think I'm finally in the swing as far as "back-to-school" with all 3 on *real* school schedules (7th, 4th and K), homework etc. involves more juggling!

Apparently the dog we chose has diarrhea issues :roll: great- just what I needed! First we did a food change - things seemed to be going much better - then he got an ear infection - and started to have D again (I blamed the abx) - but they tested him and it was actually hookworm - so we are treating that - but it got worse - super stinky and odd yellow-green color - so now they're thinking he picked up something bacterial (doesn't help he is a garbage disposal on 4-legs - have to watch him like a hawk - he eats *everything*!) - so now we are on 10 days of Flagyl, and Rx food. I really hope this does the trick - scooping up the nasties, then hosing down the lawn multiple times each day gets tiring! And oh yeah - it's costing a bundle :roll:

Race for the Cure is in 10 days. I'm running the 5K with my best friend. I've upped my running from 2 miles 2x/week to 3 miles 4x/week. I'm also having a bit of a flare - not sure if it is related to the increased running, a seasonal deal or cross-contamination (I've eaten out a bit recently) - so annoying! Worst case is I load up on Immodium before the race - I'll try to take pictures!

Glad to see some old-timers back - Grandma Mary etc...anyone heard from our gal Sal?
Mostly I do a "drive-by" check in and read posts, but rarely have time to respond...

Good health to all!
Mary

Mary;

It's great to see you again! I can't believe that baby of yours is actually in school! Wow, they just grow up so fast, don't they?!? It's amazing!

I've wondered about Sally myself. Anybody know anything about her whereabouts? Sally, are you out there?

Mary, gotta get that dog on a GF diet :wink:

Take care!

One of our cats had giardia when we got her from the shelter. She squirted poo when she was just sitting around :sad: . But some drugs and she got over it. Now her gut does well...she even eats the handles off wicker baskets, and chews on the wood pile and it doesn't affect her gut!

Hope the pup gets straightened out soon. These things do happen though, and at least you understand! So many owners would have given up on the dog by now I'm sure.

Good luck with the race. I'm jealous of anyone with that ability anymore. I sure don't have it. Of course the incentive to run/walk from my house involves knowing there is at least a 1/4 mile up hill to do to get home (the last 0.1 mile of which is our steep driveway!).

Mary,
That dog is sure lucky to have an owner that totally understands how they are feeling. I bet he feels just as confused and as terrible as we do when we are having the D.
