Running out of Patience!

Post by Babsey »

:penguinaspin: I feel like I'm running in circles. I know the diet takes awhile to work. I try my best with it but it seems like I never have time to get organized. After I stopped the Colazal, I had a few weeks where I could deal with it and I was sort of getting on a schedule. This week has been terrible. I'm crampy, gassy, going all the time, almost having accidents and I just don't know how much longer I can do this. I want to put my whole life on hold and stay in bed. My part time job is picking up because its retail and Tis the Season. But working 40 hours a week at my normal day job, I'm exhausted. I should just quit that, but I like it and I like having a little extra money, especially now with worrying about heating costs and moving, etc.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading my vent.

Maybe it's the time of year when we are all depressed. Not to mention, everyone I know is having relationship problems.

Babsey, as well as the mc problems its sounds very much like you are extremely stressed...This is going to add to your symtoms...Obviously its frustrating waiting for a new diet to kick in, but its gonna take time hun...I can totally relate to the way you are feeling...im there back and forth all the time...I suggest you take some time out to rest...is there any way you have annual leave holidays you can take...this will help you rest...

I have just taken a week off to rest my weary body!!!I have had lots of sleep and rest and feel better physically for it now..Im trying to charge my batteries for returning to work on monday20th..not that im looking forward to it...

Anyway even if you can get some hols from your fulltime job, take them...and continue with your p/t job...at least you wont be exhausted for a short time...

As far as your cramps go i found being on a liquid diet helpful...smoothies, soup etc...

hope you feel a little better soon :bigbighug:

Hi Babsey! I know it's frustrating. In the beginning of my diagnosis I wasn't sure there was anything worth all the trouble I had to go thru. I was extremly depressed and scared. Then I found all my exstended family here. And I have gotton a world of information from them. Not to mention moral support. There really is light at the end of the tunnel, It's not always easy to obtain. Please hand in there and give the diet a chance. It's ok if you slip up and eat something you shouldn't. remember it and write it down so you don't eat it again. I took Bentyl for the pain and crampy issues for quite awhile. But since I have been in remission I use Darvocet (low dosage) when Tylenol doesn't work. I don't need them near as much as I used to. I drank alot of green tea and still do, it settles my gut for some reason (decaffenated) I thought I would pull all my hair out before things started to get under control. Love and Hugs Oma :bigbighug:

Babsey,

I don't recall if you are using Immodium or Lomotil, but either of them can help to reduce the chances of having an accident on the "bad" days, especially if you're putting in such long workdays. Some members have had very good results with one or the other, but most people find that one works better for them, than the other.

I don't see how you can work such long hours, every day - I had to take some time off, now and then, whether I wanted to or not.

This probably is the time of year when depression becomes more widespread, and relationship problems increase.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
