Em-BRACEABLE BARBARA!!!

Post by barbaranoela »

Hi all-------
Went to the brace place---and got fitted with my armor!!!

I wanna tell U all---I have had the greatest peoples taking care of me---but the BEST is----I am being an Xcellant PATIENT!!!
Can U believe that!!!

As soon as the *brace* was adjusted to my frame and I put it on---I couldnt believe the *relief* I felt---

It is metal bars---with thick bands of plastic(for cushioning)---which run across my chest --then rods come down the side--and I have the same thing cross my tummy(good sucker in tummy thing ) and then same in the back--

The amazing thing is----the difference I felt in being kept straight up and not slouched --as we dont really know how much we do this --

Now---the test of lying in bed---lemme tell U when I first put my body in the bed I said *OH NO* but within minutes there was comfort!!!!
Sounds crazy---doesnt it!!!
So I am going to be the *best patient ever* cus I want this to mend properly

Meds were changed---no more Oxicondyn--cus that really wasnt for me--now have Darvacet and Alleve----finding that much better---and I did ask about the PAIN PATCH---and the answer was NO---

This is the funniest part----when speaking to Kait -today- she said---(Grams I am so GLAD U and Gramps arent coming for Turkey Day--I just  ---cus now I can have what I want to EAT and not what U guys like!!!
Is this child honest or what???

So, on Turkey Day my thanks will be---*how lucky I am that I didnt break my hip/hips*

So dear friends---enjoy the day--with family-friends and whoever stops by for just a cuppa :coffee2:

Will be hoppin here and there--

I hope you have a most fantastic Thanksgiving Day, Barbara, and you truly do have a lot to be thankful for.........your fall could have been so much worse. I'm very grateful it wasn't.

Sure happy the brace is making you more comfortable.

What a relief. I was afraid you wouldn't be able to sleep in that "armor". I'm glad things are looking up.

Kait definitely *is* refreshingly honest, isn't she, (or brutally honest, depending on how you look at it). LOL. Bless her heart.

I hope you truly enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday. And yes, as bad as broken vertebrae can be, a broken hip would surely be far worse.

Hi Barb, I am sorry, I did not know you had that fall. Hope you have not got to be in the brace for long. Seems as though you are coping well with it though. Can't keep a good woman down. I will call you tomorrow, it is too late now to call today.

Lotsa love

Morning Barbara,

Isn't medical science great. Thanks to the designer you designed your designer-wear and I am so happy you are feeling some relief. Also very happy you did the bed thing without too much pain.

If you get bored, you could bedazzle the thing.

Love, Maggie

OMG!!! I didn't know that you had taken a fall. So sorry that you had a gravity storm....having DJD in my ankles and knees, I do the crash and burn gig quite often... Hope the new brace works out great and you have a wonderful holiday.

Hugs,

Hi Barbara:

Hope this helps you mend quickly and my love and prayers are with you.

Sounds to me that getting this brace on is really doing the trick and you'll be good as new in a jiffy!

Love and God Bless:
