Yeah me! Today was a great day! I only had to print and sign my name in 3 places before the postman would give me the envelope with my $50 gift card from Wal-Mart.
I even got a VERY SHORT letter from:Hunter Shawn Roddy/Store Manager!
Please find enclosed a $50 gift card to be used at your conveniece at any Wal-Mart Store of you choosing. (Does this mean he would prefer I spend it in a different location? )
Again we do apologize for the unfortunate incident that did (Please notice that he used the word DID. That means he is truly aware that I DID s _ _ t myself in his store.)occur in our store. We have taken steps to ensure that this does not happen again. We want to re-assure you that the customer does come first. (I was NOT born yesterday and I've read way too many articles this past week that proves he's stretching the truth with this statement)
Thank you for your time. If you have any further queries, please feel free to call me. ( (Do you honestly expect me to believe that he wants to hear from me anytime soon?)
Sincerely,
Hunter Shawn Roddy
Store Manager
There you go y'all. Just thought I would share this and bring a smile to your day/night or whatever time it is where you live. LOL

You know what? After reading that, I'd be willing to bet that he did tell those guys who clean the restrooms that if anyone comes in there and claims that they have an urgent need to use the restroom and can't spare the time it takes to walk to the other end of the store, to get out of their way, and let them "do their thing". I'll bet that they sent a memo about that policy change to all the other stores also.
The reason I feel this way, is because he put it in writing, and they know damn well that if an incident such as that were to happen again, (to you, at least - since you have that letter), an attorney could use that letter to extract a lot bigger settlement from them, the next time it happened. They already have lost $50 on that issue, so they certainly aren't likely to take any chances on throwing any more money into it. Besides, it won't cost them anything to implement this policy change. Walmart might spend millions on attorney's fees, but they squeeze every penny, otherwise. I believe you accomplished your goal.
Love,
Tex

I just thought it was quite unusual to have to sign so many little pieces of paper for the gift card yesterday. I felt sorry for the poor mail carrier. I probably thought "This chick must be in big "Doggy Doo Doo" with someone? LOL
I think you're right about the possibility of them passing to word to all stores so that this doesn't happen to anyone else and above all that's what I want. I would never want to see or hear of anyone going through the same situation I did. It's not one of the top things on my "bucket list" to do before I leave this world.
Since you mentioned that they admitted what happened in this letter maybe I should probably put it in my little metal box for safe keeping. You never know when someone may need help in the future so instead of tossing it in the trash I think I'll just keep it protected.
Thank You Tex and Love Ya!

Those three signatures are pretty strong evidence that Walmart considered this to be a "legal" issue, rather than just a customer relations issue. They're so tight, that it's a wonder that they didn't have an armed guard accompanying the postman, to make sure that no one stole the gift card, before it got to you. LOL.
Love ya too,
Tex

I have already put it in my little gray metal box just incase it's needed at some other point in time.
At least I can put it behind me now and I'm able to replace the clothes that were ruined that day. So I'm satisfied.
Tex is right though, the letter admits that what happened DID infact take place in their store.
LOL I almost forgot to mention that I noticed the postage on the envelope and they paid $5.32 to mail that gift card. OMG! I should have looked down the street to see if there was an armoured truck somewhere close by. Heeheehee.

By accepting and signing you obsolve them from any future action. Case closed ~ one probably goes to lawyer, store level & corporate!
I'm sorry you had to go through this but no doubt you have educated a few along the way, and helped many more from suffering the same horrible situation ~ & I thank you for that
The letter I received also admitted that the incident DID take place in the Caro Store and they once again apologized.
Tex seems to feel that ALL the Wal-Mart Stores received memo's in regards to making certain changes when they hire new employees. Which is a very good thing IMO.
I truly hope what happened to me NEVER happens to another a customer.
I am keeping the letter for safe keeping just incase something like this does happen again because if it ever happens to me again which I'm hoping it never will at least I'll have it in written what happened once before. Next time this happens to a customer as Tex said Wal-Mart won't be getting away with just a gift card they will be looking at a HUGE law suit.
Thank You once again for your support.
