Entocort is Dead for Me!

Post by MaggieRedwings »

Morning All,

Well I have finally decided that I will no longer take Entocort. I have been battling dizziness again and I am sure it is a result of the Entocort since I had stopped for a while and once I started again the dizziness and imbalance started again. Had a nasty fall this weekend that knocked me out and hurt both my shoulder and head. Just missed hitting directly in the eye. Will be a while getting unsore and definitely non-black & Blue.

I think I have experimented enough with it now to know tht this is the culprit for me like I think it was also for Barbara. Will go it diet alone from now on.

Maybe it is the mix of it and my heart meds but whatever it is, it is not for me.

Love, Maggie

I certainly hope you are OK now. Sorry you had to experience the nasty fall. I hope you feel better soon.

Your experiences are making me want to never start it. I'm trying like crazy but I just can't seem to eat the correct things. The only thing I ate different yesterday was 2 slices of brisket and some corn chips. The latter didn't seem to bother me before now.

I've mostly been "living" on Ian's chicken patties, rice and potatoes.

I finally found GF vitamins, calcium and vitamin D at GNC.

Maggie,

I'm very sorry to hear about the fall, and I'm glad that you didn't have more serious injuries. I agree with you that dizziness really sucks. I rarely have that problem, but when I do, I just can't handle it - if I find that I'm dizzy when I get out of bed in the morning, I go back to bed, until it passes. I believe that MC has neurological effects on many of us, because my balance is not as good as it used to be, ever since my MC symptoms became severe, so I don't need anything to make it worse.

It's a crying shame that the pharmaceutical companies can't develop any effective meds that aren't loaded with adverse side effects.

Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Maggie:

So sorry to hear about your fall I hope you'll be up, around and doing better shortly.

I am on Entocort but have not had any problems with dizziness as of yet. There have been some med's that have caused some adverse effects one being Bentyl. The other was Boniva for my bone density. I was sick for 4 days after taking only one dose. Now my PP, GI and Lupus specialist is discussing the possibility of starting me on an aggressive form of treatment where I would take a daily injection for the next 2 years. I have been procrastinating that idea and want to see and hear of other treatments that are not so costly. Am still waiting for some labs to come back on different Vitamin levels in my body. Since they have to send these labs out it will be at least another week or more before I hear anything.

Will keep you in my prayers.

Love and God Bless:

Maggie,

Sorry to hear you have had such issues with Entocort after giving it such a valiant effort. I was wondering about how your MC symptoms have been over the last year and what type of diet your eating these days?

I'm also sorry to hear about your fall and hope your recovery is quick. Take care.

Oh Mags,

What a shame - at least you can say that you gave it your best try. I can't remember - did you have problems with dizziness before the Entocort? I do recall that you had something that they had difficulty figuring out. Am sending positive thoughts your way today. :flyingdoveleft:
