Well Tex, how about we shoot for 2012 which will give us time to do some campaigning?

I'm an admitted political news junkie who has been laboriously following this election cycle for what seems like eternity and my remote, keyboard and I are just exhausted. I'll be so glad when this campaign is over.

Understanding political discussions are sort of "off limits" here but I just can't resist posting a link to a very funny short. It's very humorous and has a very catchy tune. I believe it came out shortly before the vp picks were announced and I mean no disrespect to either candidate as I happen to be voting for one of them myself. It's just plain funny. Thank You for sharing the Jib Jab site it really made me smile and laugh.

Like many I'll truly be glad when this whole election campaign is over as well but I truly enjoyed the little song skit.

I love the Jib Jab campaign shorts. IMO, though, the 2004 Bush/Kerry one was a lot funnier. I actually use these with my college freshmen when we're talking about different types of rhetoric and the difference between scholarly research and propaganda, which apparently neither campaign has figured out...ah, well, that's politics. It helps to lighten the mood and, this year at least, has kept any actual fights from erupting in class. And...miracle of miracles...has inspired my students on both sides of the aisle to see positives and negatives in both candidates, which, in a deeply polarized nation and election year, is something I see as a great thing. I like to see them talking and listening to each other instead of fighting. Humor works wonders...sometimes their elders could take a lesson.
