I notice you are from South Central Texas - where abouts are you? I am in The Valley - Mission, to be exact. Are we anywhere near each other?

I probably used the wrong designation when I put South Central. It's probably closer to Central TX. I live east of Austin. Also spend quite a bit of time outside Port Lavaca.

I think most people think of Austin as being South, but way down here we think of it as "up north"

I didn't grown up down here, but am quickly learning that I am REALLY south!

I know what you mean. I have neighbors who go to the "Valley" for the winter.

I'm not a native Texan. I lived a number of years as a youngster in West Texas but spent a long time in Alaska. When my husband decided to retire from the Federal Govt we started looking for warmer climate and settled on Texas.
