Brrrrrrrr!!!!! Bracing Ourselves for 6-12 inches of Snow

Post by jodibelle352 »

Hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving. As expected I ate WAY to much but stayed away from the things that I knew would make me ill. My biggest down fall is my husbands homemade baked beans, since my DX's of CC I have not been able to tolerate his beans. LOL

Right now here in Michigan we are bracing ourselves for one of our noteable winter/mix storms. Needless to say we will not be excluded from its path infact it is already doing its thing. Our deck is completely covered and just heard from our daughter how nasty the roads are already at this time. According to weather reports this is NOT going to let up until sometime tomorrow afternoon. Arghhhhh!!!

As long as we don't loose power and can stay nice and warm inside we should be fine. I worked very hard on Friday, getting our small table sized 4ft. tree decorated and putting up decorations for Christmas. Don't do as much decorating as I once did but it's still enough to enjoy, relax and feel the peace of the Christmas Season.

Hope everyone is doing well, will let you know later how our weather here in Michigan is going. Right now it looks like we're going to be in for a long night and day tomorrow.

Love and God Bless:

Hi Dee:

Hope it doesn't come your way because it is a mess here. At first it was just snow with wind making the visability really nasty. Now it's turned into a snow/rain mix making it even nastier. At first it was supose to stop by 11a.m. tomorrow and it has now changed where it's supose to continue until 4p.m. tomorrow afternoon. I sure wish it was Spring and the Hummingbirds were back. LOL

I've never been much of a winter person and even at the ripe age of 56 I still don't like winter. Arghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Spring and the colors of Fall are my favorite but I guess I'll just have to hang in there with the rest of those who live in Michigan.

How was your Thanksgiving? Did you have a house full? Hope all went well and everyone had a good time.

Love and God Bless:
Jodi

We're getting a snow storm here, too. DH said the roads were slippery on his way home. He thinks I should get instructions in how to start and use the snowblower. The thing is huge and I can barely even move it. We bought it a couple of years ago when I decided that we're getting too old to shovel. I need a mama snowblower and he can use his papa snowblower.

Hee Hee Hee !!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with you on the Mama and Papa Snowblowers because some of those things are really hard to handle. The snow we're getting right now is NOT a nice and fluffy snow. NO WAY it has to be a slushy packing snow. IOW it's the kind that pulls your vehicle all over the roads and highways and ends up being to wet and cold for kids too make a snowman. LOL Hopefully, once I go to bed tonight and get up in the morning I'll have a nice surprise and all this white stuff will be gone.

We got 2 and a half inches of rain...... It is colder here, though. I think I've become a real whimp about the cold.

Sorry about all your snow.

Yup, I had to blow several inches of water logged snow yesterday morning. I'm heading to central NY state on Thursday to wade in a river to inspect a dam. Not really looking forward to that! I do have nice heavy chest waders and will wear lots of clothes!

Stay safe with that winter weather.
